Much appreciated, thank you :)
I spent a quite bit of time going back through your archive and was very impressed, so I’ve recommended you to the directory this week. More on that when I make tomorrow’s recommendation!
Yes, I know what you’re thinking, but I didn’t forget yesterday - I was just too tired last night and this is the first chance I’ve had today. Pfoo, you’re a tough audience :)
This week’s directory recommendation is for Love and Squalor. I know a few people who find colour photography a real challenge over black and white and are never quite sure how to approach it, but this blog contains a series of scorching images of New England where colour is at the absolute core of the shots. It’s a rare talent if you can make someone feel nostalgic for somewhere they’ve never been :)
Informally World on Pause is worth a visit for some soulful and subtle urban work, and revisit my former nominee, the ever talented Eressiel who seems to be able to continuously tease ever more fascinating images out of a single city .
Bit of a music selection here - Caribou have a Tumblr page, which is more about info than media but does contains a few tasters. They were amazing at Summer Sundae (Photos here and here) and blew the doors off the place - think live electro-funk but played on real instruments at major volume. They’re absolutely awesome, and you all need to see them :)
Ok, time for food. I probably won’t post another of these until I have more new shots up, but the weather has turned here as we head towards autumn so conditions aren’t great so it may be a while. I’ll keep recommending though, and fill the details in later :)
I missed Tumblr Tuesday this week.. partly because of doing other things, partly because of technical issues, but mainly because I’m a spanner and I forgot. Today will take a surrogate role, and shall be known as Forgetful Friday.
This week’s directory recommendation is for Shiona Walker because I’m a sucker for a good gig photographer and Shiona is definitely one of those. She also has a lot of great shots of bands I’ve recently developed a lot of respect for, so that’s a double bonus.
Informally, go and see Sansivera for a great iPhone based photoblog with a demanding brief, and the mysterious Someperfectworld for a diverse range of high impact and frequently abstract work. It goes without saying that everyone else I follow is also deserving of a visit, so do that too ;)
Short and sweet this time, see you next week!
